our Process
...begins in the natural world, in an ever fresh palette of botanical impressions and inspiration. We walk in forests and fields gathering leaves, pine cones and bark. Shoreline excursions yield otherworldly yet also familiar aquatic shapes. Backyards surprise us with lilac, lavender and wildflowers.
Back in the studio, we explore the botanicals, allowing the natural forms and serendipity to influence us as we create the molds. Unexpected movement, twists and turns, are embraced as part of our process. Textures are not altered via computer or carving. We revere the forms we use.
Next, our pieces travel to New Mexico where they are cast and polished. Finally, they return back to our studio to be assembled by hand, completing the journey of these forms and textures from nature...to you.
